Pai Gow is a variation on a standard Poker game, and is a little hard to get used to from the start but is a game that is well worth playing.
Pai Gow started off in China as a game played with dominos, and has since grown and changed into the game that it is today, played with a standard deck of cards.
Pai Gow starts with the player placing their bet. The player and the dealer and then dealt seven cards each.
Out of these seven cards, each player must make two poker hands. One hand of five cards, and one hand of two cards. Both of these hands can be any value, with the only rule being that the 5-card hand must be a higher rank then the 2-card hand.
Once both players have organised their hands into these seperate hands, both hands are evaluated against the dealers hands.
If both of the players hands are higher then the corresponding dealers hands then the player wins. If both of the dealers hands beat both of the players hands, the deler wins. If one of teh players hands wins and one of the dealers hand wins, the game is a push, and the players bet is returned to them.
